Redridge facing the dam and bridge taken from on top of the Rock Bin of the old Atlantic Mining Company's mill. The train shown moving up to the bridge over the dam was hauling cars of sand from below the Baltic Mill during the summer of 1924. Buildings shown that are now removed or burned during the great fire of 1937 are the Woodman Hall, the Catholic Chapel (which was the first public school in Redridge) and other homes down towards the "Candy Store." The Redridge (Baltic Mining Company's Store) partially burned down during the spring of 1950. It was then dismantled for scrap by Andrew Engles, Supt. of Mill at Freda. The first proprietor of the store was James William Squire, followed by Jim Bartlette, then George Matson from 1928-30, followed by Waino Laamanen till its offical closing as a company store. After that it was taken over by Reynold Timmonen who operated it as a private store till it's buring in 1950. The old Atlantic Railroad track ran along side of the store basement where box cars of produce and freight were unloaded to restock the store. Redridge in 1912 was a big booming mill town of 1,100 people including those many families along the lake shore. Identification of buildings (1) on right Woodman Hall (2) center, the first school built in Redridge but in 1912 it was sold to the Catholic group and named "St. Anne's Chapel" (3) new big school with flag flying above it.
