Description: The building of the Redridge Steel Dam by the Wisconsin Bridge and Iron Works of Milwaukee was started in 1901 and completed in 1902 along with the completion of the Baltic Mill for which the dam was originally intended. The steel dam impounded water on the Salmon Trout River for about one and one-half miles upstream. Here the process of construction is proceeding with heavy concrete enforcements on each end of the dam and trestle. [Photo showing a broad view of the construction.
