Description: The old steam crane of the Ontonagon Fiber Mill got into action at the Lake Superior yards for the first time in about three years. Ontonagonites thrilled at the sound of the whistle which meant that happenings of yesteryear were in the offing once more. The mill, in the process of being adapted to the desires of its new owners, the Huss-Ontonagon Co. had a fair force employed, yesterday. Most were working within the mill. The crane was employed in the log stacking yard where a bucket loader was also engaged in relieving the area of its low and scattered timber. Operating the machinery were Walter Myhren and John Engberg. [Photo of a smoking relic of a steam crane in action.]
