These are almost definitely hoisting kibbles used to lift material (rock, tools, chunks of copper, men, etc.) from the bottom of the mine to the surface. The attachment of the chains is the indication that they were used for hoisting and not for transporting copper."

• These barrels were used to haul small peices of copper. The barrels are heavily reinforced to haul large amounts of weight. This copper was often referred to as barrel works.
