This mass of pure copper, weighing about 6,000 pounds was found upon the property of the Minong Mining Company situated at McCargo Cove, Isle Royale, L.S. It was taken from an ancient mine pit 16 1/2 feet deep, and is just discovered, showing ancient stone hammer marks. [The boulder sits on a make shift wagon made of logs.] Scanned: March 8, 2007 |
