Carol LaVierre, of Baraga County, who is half Inian (Siouz) displays nerve, skill and understanding of horses. At a Pelkie fair she ordered her pet to trot down the field, then on command it galloped full tilt towards her. As it brushed by her, she grasped the lower mane with her left had and swung aboard. All without the benefit of a saddle. Then Carol ordered her mount to stand on hind feet with her aboard. This skillis not recommended for those suffering from Arthritis, Lumbago, or a faint heart.
