Making Maple Syrup - Doelle Students

Persons, Sugar, Maple Sugar, Dave Wanhala of the FFA of the John A. Doelle Agricultural School, deposits a pint of maple syrup on a table in the school kitchen, during a lush day of syrup making Sunday. Richard Breyer, syrup project leader, said 1,100 gallons of sap were collected Saturday, high for the year. This week the FFA has made over $200 worth of the finished product for four days and another good day was expected today. Over $1,000 worth of syrup has been made to date. Breyer has indicated that the evaporator purchased this spring is too small to handle the present supply and that a larger one will be needed in the spring of 1966.
