Biography - Hon. Orrin W. Robinson |

Served two terms as Lieutenant Governor. In 1873, he organized the Sturgeon River Lumber Co., which built mills in Hancock. In 1887, the mills were moved to Chassell. The town was named by Mr. Robinson in honor of Mr. Chassell, of New York City, who was connected with one of the Houghton banks and maintained a summer residence there. After the business was sold to the C. H. Wooster Lumber Co., he continued to serve as general manager and after 1885, as a director.
