Students - Michigan Tech

Education, Postsecondary Education, Education, Higher, Buildings, Persons Douglass Tech House students enjoy all the privileges and hospitality of most college dormitories. Here five men are chatting with each other over the plans for the evening prior to their study hours. The students had just completed their noonday meal when the MINING GAZETTE photographer arrived. Jovial, but serious students, their room reflected perseverance and intent toward their engineering assignments. Persons, Agriculture, Earl Sohlden of Chassell, right, took first place in the certified seed growers contest at the potato show in Escanaba on Wednesday. He is shown with the Steinbrecker Brothers of Metropolitan, who won the premier growers contest and Joe Trepanier of Iron Mountain, who took the sweepstakes award for the best 32 potatoes of any variety. Mr. Trepanier holds the Marquette Mining Journal Gold Cup, his sweepstakes award. [The four men pose for a photo holding their awards.]
