Ahmeek Shaft

Metal Trade, Copper Industry and Trade, Copper Mines and Mining, Buildings, Ahmeek shaft (with double hoist) June 1948 [A photo of the huge steel shaft-rockhouse at the Ahmeek 3 and 4 shafts. The shafts in this structure descended at a rather steep angle of 80 degrees. The unusual hoist rope configuration was due to the fact that the hoist sat on the same side of the of the shaft-rockhouse as the shaft.]
