Like a rural mailbox, a long-abandoned rural outhouse in Quincy has a "flag" to indicate whether or not it is occupied. The last user - or the wind - left the staff in a halfway position, which suggests any number of quips. [Image of the outhouse with a lock outside the door.]

Parades |
Persons, Manners and Customs, Peace Officers, Police |
Teachers in card shark costumes, teachers with mustachios, a la handlebar and ghostlike teachers in white all promenaded to lend enthusiasm and zest to the Hancock School System lower grades Halloween parade down Quincy St. Friday afternoon. Who says the law enforcement boys don't like legitimate and entertaining Halloween displays? Not Chief Fred Paulson, left, and Sgt. Joseph Karry. Here they are holding a bewitching prankster Linda Nolan just before the parade got off in the direction of Quincy and Reservation. The two lawmen experienced no trouble with the 175 charges they had to supervise. The long march was orderly despite its noisy aspects. [The two policemen hold a little girl dressed in costume.]

First Aid - We have registered nurses in attendance on a twenty four hour, seven day a week basis. These nurses are equipped to take care of emergency cases and give first aid, although we ridgidly adhere to the practice of calling in medical assistance when necessary. Through this room also pass newly hired employees for fingerprinting and filling out necessary reports and government forms.
