Businesses - Silver City Store

Buildings, Commercial Buildings, Stores, Retail, Seasons, Winter, The Silver City store - The silvery hue is not from the supposedly rich veins of years gone by, but from the fluffy snow on the high reaches of the Porcupine Mountains. The hamlet is named for the silver boom in the Ontonagon Country between 1870 and 1880. The boom began in 1872, reached its apex in 1874 and had completely subsided before 1880. It took place near the Little Iron River. Today, the inflow of cartwheels results from white snow, and the dollars are coming in as they never did before. There will be no change in the enterprise's name despite the change in the source of revenue. [Exterior view of the store selling groceries, souvenirs, candy, pop, ice cream, gas and oil.]
