Copper Detection

Airports, Airport Buildings, Transportation, Air Travel, Persons Seeking copper - Keweenaw Peninsula residents, especially those from the tip area, will see this helicopter maneuvering above their homes tomorrow. Owned by Petroleum Helicopters Inc., a Louisiana concern, the craft is equipped with detection instruments, capable of locating copper deposits. The work is more or less of an experimental nature, since, this is the first time it has been tried on native copper areas. Artistic Scenes

Retail Trade, Stores, Retail, Food Service, Considerable artistry distinguishes the new Hancock Red Owl store. Those in charge of designing the new supermarket did not fail to stress a number of features admired by all true Copper Countryites, mining and the Keweenaw Peninsulas unusual geographic prominence jutting into Lake Superior. Behind the meat counter is this shafthouse at Quincy, famed No. 8 towering skyward near Mesnard. Billowy clouds waft themselves over the Hill copper district, and at the left of the photo the outline of the Keweenaw Peninsula can be seen. Inscribed on the outline are the names of Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor, Calumet, Laurium, Houghton and Hancock. Persons, Manners and Customs, Beloved pet - Little Nancy Darlene Pascoe believes there is nothing more affectionate than a parakeet. Here she sits with Petey, the bird, which follows her about the house, like Friday followed Robinson Crusoe. Nancy frequently finds Pete perching on her oatmeal dish and when she takes her morning bath, he tries to splash with her in the tub. Two and one half years of age, Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pascoe of Hurontown. [Nancy offers Petey some of her breakfast.]

Biography - Charles Baullinger and Lauri Lahti

Industries, Service Industries, Persons, Buildings, Garages Charles Baullinger and Lauri Lahti are very important men in Mass because they have great faith in the future of the town and surrounding areas. To grow with the region they acquired the former Martinen Chevrolet Sales. Here they shake hands in observance of the event. Their smiles indicates that they have been satisfied with the big turnout of interested citizens of the village who came to give the establishment a good look.
