Houghton's new Longshot Bar is a marvel to behold emphasizing the western, barn and rustic type atmopsheres. The new establishment employs 12 persons in the realm of bar tenders, waitresses and music instrument operators. According to Manager Don Meyers, the business is excellent and the place only had its formal opening Wednesday. It is located one block east of the Douglass House and the management now is thinking of furnishing cold sandwiches to its patrons. It operates a Lounge Room where patrons may analyzse athletic contests and stress the happenings of the community. The Longshot can look back more than a century, to the former Miller Hotel on Shelden Avenue. The photo shows the bar to the right and the Lounge Room, left.
