Description: New Snowfall Record 294.5 In. On March 29, 1965 the Copper Country achieved a new snowfall record near this location by recording 284.6 in. of snow. The original record of 282.2 seasonal inches was tabulated in the winter of 1949-50 at the Houghton County memorial airport. The last snowfall in 1950 came on May 3rd. The following is a monthly tabulation of snow for the winter of 1964-65, Oct. 3.8 in., Nov. 41.0 in., Dec. 100.6 in., Jan., 52.8 in., Feb. 41.9 in., Mar. 39.0 in., Apr. 5.4 in. to total 294.5 inches.
