The Calumet New, 2 July 1913 Eagle Harbor Resident Faces Tangle for Trapping Trio of Bears In the event that the state game department takes action, George Lamerand of Eagle Harbor may face legal entanglement according to Game Warden McDonald. Lamerand trapped a trio of cubs and shot a pair of older bears some time ago, though the game laws provide a closed season on bears. This law will be null after August 15, but until that time, the game department may insist up its enforcement. In that event, the cubs will be seized and the hides confiscated.
