Description: Sch. Wenona - Driven ashore September 7, 1898, outside east breakwater Portage Ship Canal. A complete wreck, no loss of life. Originally built as a steamer for Union S. S. Co., Cleveland, Ohio 1857. Cut down to a barge 1876. Lies below present look-out tower. [Image of waves washing over the ship near the shore.]
