Title: Snowfall

Description: Winona sure does get snow. Even the Riipa Lumber Co. sawmill in the Twin Lakes vicinity is proof of this. Sunday, a dark day, found the mill revealing this photo. One could walk from the former right of way of the Copper Range Railroad right up to the top of the building without trouble, so extensive is the snowfall. Because of environmental factors the Riipa mill may phase out of the sawmilling facet. Plainly, it appears there are just too many regulations. The firm will, however, remain in the lumber business and likely will enlarge its plant. [Image of the Riipa mill covered in snow.]
