Description: These children live at Winona, in Houghton County, MI. Here they are waiting for the mail man or the newspaper tube route man. The enclosure was dug by the mail box owner to protect the children and himself from the high velocity winds, cold and traffic. Here the banks are 11 feet high. Winona is a former active copper mining community. [Four children huddle in the snow enclosure. The name "Keranen" is on the mail box.]
