Cities and Towns - Redridge

Human Settlements, Cities and Towns, Buildings, Seasons, Winter Redridge in 1912. Population was 1,100 with 900 in the town and 200 along the lake shore communities. This town wanted to incorporate as a village in 1916, but when the mining companies threatened to double the rent per month from $1/room to $2/room of each house, the plan was dropped. It had 170 children as students in the school from grades K-8. It had a large general store, a candy store, a barber shop, two boarding houses and three band organizations.
