The Houghton Soldier, marching through the drifts, is wearing the world's coldest imitation mink hat. Heavy snow is predicted for the Copper Country, and conditions could conceivably grow worse after winter begins on Monday. This is the most snow that has ever fallen in the Houghton area by this time of the year, about 82 inches at press time. Truly a monumental fall. Tennis, anyone? [The statue erected in memory of Houghton Company is shown as it appeared after a heavy snowfall.]
