Soo Line Caboose 580 was the last one to move into the Calumet area while a station agent was serving it. Here a unit of Soo employees are on hand to properly commemorate the occasion. In the above group are Joseph Sterbenz, Dave Manninen, the agent; Ivor Lytikzinen, Francis Beaudry and Joseph Kaufman. The train still will move to Calumet when there is freight for it but this does not mean that it is making a profit while performing such activities. Service will be from the Houghton station. [The employees stand in a snow storm holding a sign reading " Last tricks on the Lake Linden, Keweenaw, Calumet closing Copper Country stations.
