Jeffers High Schools basketball squad is again ready to compete for court honors in the same good manner it did, in 1957. The squad won two-thirds of its matches last year and hopes to match or better this reord in 1958. Two captains will run the squad this year. James Malila and Carl Sechan. Both are seniors and will be starters on the Painesdale High School floor Saturday against Ewen in the first game of the season. Coach Gary Arvo explains a few of this years plays. Here is the much famed and renowned Quincy One and All Football Team, the champions of the Upper Peninsula in 1911, two years before the eventful Copper Country strike. Featuring all Cousin Jacks, according to Bill Towsey of Hancock, a native of Cornwall himself, the unit at varied times had as many as five mining captains in its makeup. FROM LEFT, UPPER: F.
