Biography - Harley Sachs

Manners and Customs, Recreation, Family Recreation, Persons, Harley and his daughter play the game "Police State" which he invented. With the help of his daughters Belinda, Cynthia and Anna-Lena the playing pieces of the game are sanded, painted, boxed and labeled for shipment. Using parts made made by Superior Industries in Hancock, game boards laminated in Kalamzaoo and cards printed in Hancock, the family manufactures the game from their basement. Here the popular Baraga County athlete sits at luncheon center with Mrs. Nurmela and Fred Biekkola, right, Baraga County agent. The big trophy is one of eight Tauno has won in track and field events. Tauno was a member of the Ponnistus Athletic Club in 1933. [The Nurmela's and Mr. Biekkola sit at the Nurmela's kitchen table where cake and donuts are being served.]
