Disasters, Fires, Persons, Buildings An early morning fire Sunday destroyed the building housing the Hollywood Tavern on Hancock Avenue in Hancock. The tavern was operated by John Burgbacher Sr., and apparently started from a small heater in the tavern portion of the three-section structure. [Firefighters battle the flames at the tavern. Fires - Arson

Disasters, Fires, Arson, Persons, Buildings A two alarm, double fire damaged three buildings in Hancock Saturday night and Sunday morning. The fire started in the basement of the old Pintin Hardware building (1) hidden, and made headway into the rear of the Ted Jaasko battery shop (2) located on Hancock Avenue and destroyed the structure and most of its contents. Sunday morning, a second fire damaged another building (3) also owned by Jaasko. [Firefighters and spectators gather at the burned out remains of the the buildings.]
