Contributing to the prosperity of Ontonagon county and especially the Rockland area was the Victoria Mining Co. of a few years back. Now but a series of foundations, abandoned buildings and vacant and windowless log houses, the old Victoria property is still the object of visitation by tourists and yesterday's resident who continue to come back to revision the scenes and happenings of a former day.
