"At the Quincy Mine Location, the biggest building boom occurred between 1892 and 1900. During this period the mine sunk several new shafts and greatly expanded its underground workings. Simutaneously, Quincy virtually rebuilt its surface plant to meet the increased demand for support services. In 1899-1900 the company erected this machine shop to augment both its repair and fabricaton facilities."
