Captain James Chynoweth

Manners and Customs, Clothing and Dress, Metal Trade, Copper Industry and Trade, Copper Mines and Mining, [Posed studio portrait of James Chynoweth, 1846-1922. Chynoweth was associated with the early development of a number of Michigan copper mining ventures, including the Centennial, Trimountain, and Allouez. He lived in Calumet for the latter part of his life and served on the boards of several Houghton County banks. Chynoweth was also involved in mining development in Arizona, California and Ontario.]
